My oldest son at the playground. The original picture was dark with an overexposed background, and the slight bluish cast typical of auto white balance shots taken in deep shade.

• Retouched to remove a few spot (or red marker marks -- sometimes it's hard to tell). Brightened the eyes and whitened the teeth
• Levels to brighten it up, with layer mask to isolate the foreground (child and playground equipment)
• Warming photo filter, with same layer mask
• Increased saturation, with layer mask to isolate child only
